Remembering Heartthrob Zubeen Garg | Zubeen Divas

Celebrating the Life, Music and Legacy of 
music maestro, filmmaker, actor, poet and 
Assam’s Beloved Heartthrob Zubeen Garg 
(who passed away on 19th September 2025 in Singapore) on Zubeen Divas.
One year without Zubeen Da, but his voice, his music and his memories live on.

Zubeen Divas is a three-day tribute to a voice that touched generations, Celebrating Heartthrob, the cultural icon of Assam Zubeen Garg’s life, music, memories, and enduring cultural legacy from September 17 to 19, 2026, at Zubeen Khetra ( Memorial ) Sonapur, Assam. 
I visited Zubeen Khetra on 17 September to pay tribute to the legend. 
Here are a few glimpses from this emotional celebration of his life and music.

Renowned Bollywood music composer and producer Salim Merchant visited Zubeen Khetra 
during Zubeen Divas to pay an emotional tribute 
to his close friend and legendary Assamese singer Zubeen Garg.

Artist Biikash Sharma pays a unique tribute to Zubeen Garg by creating his portrait 
from cut pieces of waste plastic bottle.

A magnificent giant cut-out of Zubeen Garg at Zubeen Khetra, 
celebrating the everlasting legacy of Assam’s beloved icon.
