Recently, I had the opportunity to visit “Landscaping Subjectivity” a thoughtfully curated exhibition showcasing the works of student artists from the Government College of Art & Crafts, Assam.
Featuring around 44 emerging artists, the exhibition presents a compelling range of recent works, organized into four thematic sections- The Landscapists, Landscaping Interior Monologue, Seeing and Looking, and Cultural Landscapes. The exhibition beautifully reimagines the idea of “landscape” in modern art from a fresh and thought-provoking perspective.
The exhibition has been organized by the Gauhati Artists’ Guild in collaboration with the Government College of Art & Crafts, Assam, as part of the Gauhati Artists’ Guild's Golden Jubilee celebrations.
It is curated by Samudra Kajal Saikia with Anupam Saikia serving as co-curator, whose curatorial vision brings together diverse artistic voices into a cohesive and thought-provoking narrative.
Venue: Gallery GAG, Gauhati Artist Guild, Chandmari, Guwahati, Assam
Date: 23rd March to 3rd April 2026
