    The sky looks like a painted one.

    I also like how the colours on the idols stand out against that brown background, not a colour we often see on temples, right?

    Well, you just reminded me of the last two trips to Varanasi. I stayed near Assi Ghat the last time I was at Varanasi. I love the amazing amalgamation of heritage, sculpture, and modernity that the city oozes out. The structural array of masonry platform, the steep steps, and wide platforms offer the perfect landscape for a diverse palate of tourists, devotees, Yogis, Babas and locals bathing, cleaning or offering prayers along the riverfront.
